BYD is number one among private EV owners in Belgium

BYD’s strong growth in Belgium is once again receiving a significant boost from the private market. According to the latest FEBIAC registration figures, BYD was the number one brand for electric cars among private consumers in Belgium in July, with a market share of 9.98 per cent within this segment.
This breakthrough in the private sector comes at a time when BYD is gaining momentum in Belgium. In June, the brand exceeded the 2 per cent market share mark in the Belgian market for new passenger cars for the first time. Barely a month later, in July, its total market share rose to 3.8 per cent, propelling BYD to 11th place in the overall brand rankings, according to FEBIAC.
Taken together, these figures show that BYD’s growth is not limited to a single customer group. The brand is gaining ground with both private and business customers, supported by a growing model range and an increasingly strong Belgian dealer network.
“The July results are particularly significant because they show that more and more private Belgian drivers are choosing BYD,” says Joris Clavie, brand director at BYD Belux. “The numbers prove that our range meets a variety of needs. At the same time, we can see that this growth in the private sector is part of a much broader acceleration for BYD in Belgium.”
With its total market share almost doubling in a single month and a leading position within the private electric vehicle market, BYD is continuing its growth trajectory in Belgium. The results confirm the ambition to make electric mobility accessible and attractive to an ever-growing group of Belgian motorists.
